In Malaysia, Valentines Day are often spent in expensive restaurants and bars, while the more economically romantic ones will stay at home munching on pizzas (me). Regardless, Valentines Day is a day to appreciate your loved ones and what a better way to celebrate that than to look well for/with your loved ones.

I was questioned by a friend who once asked me why I take the effort to put on make up when I’m going for coffee with my boyfriend. She mentioned that partners should accept each other for who they really are. I, on the other hand, disagreed with that. I mean, I agree that partners should accept each other for who they really are but hey, putting on make up shouldn’t make you “someone else”. You are still yourself regardless if you’re with or without make up. Even if you act differently when you’re with your partner, what gives? I personally feel that there is nothing wrong with dressing better, looking better, acting better, feeling better, speaking better, or in general BE BETTER for your partner. In addition to that, I always thought trying to be better for your partner is a form of showing love to one another. Hence, girls dress well and guys smell better during dates. So screw those stupid Tumblr quotes and start being nice to your partners!

Anyway let’s get back to topic. I’ve recently collaborated with Shiseido and Nars on their brand new collections. This time, bringing you a Feminine Valentine's Day Make Up. In this video, I was really lucky to be able to feature some of the best products in the industry and you can scroll down further to read more about them once you're done with the video :)

A few weeks ago, I was invited to the relaunch of Shiseido's MaQuillage collection and was blessed to have the people to send me more products exclusively for a Valentine's special. Yes, I've planned this for a while. The collection emphasises on what they call the "lady-like" beauty, basically a range of really feminine and elegant themed of products. I wouldn't call myself "lady-like" I suppose, but ever since I stepped myself into the youtube scene, I found so much variety in make up and there are so many looks a girl can go for, and one of it that really challenged me was to be feminine. So I thought it is time to take it up a notch and just do something different for once.

In the Feminine Valentine Make Up look, I used Shiseido's limited edition True Eyeshadow - VI233, the main shade of the palette goes to the pastel purple, which has a very luminous and shimmery texture to it. In addition to that, I used the Dramatic Mood Veil in PK200, a peachy pink palette to add some colours on my face. The palette has 5 colours and 5 textures, which helps to give you that correct feminine combination of colours on your cheeks. My personal favourite portion of the product is the highlighter colour. I've seen too many highlighters that do not work, but this highlighter shade itself gives that soft and seamless glow when I apply it on my higher cheek bones and nose bridge. To top that off, I finished off the look with the Dramatic Melting Rouge lipstick in the shade RD324, which is of a orangey and pinkish shade.

Aside the colour segment of my look, it wouldn't be a valentine look without a flawless complexion. If you watched the video, you would've seen the difference on my face before and after applying foundation and a flawless complexion can only be complete with a combination of NARS All-day Luminous Weightless Foundation and NARS Soft Velvet Loose Powder , and I am not just saying it.

NARS really took it up a notch this time with their liquid foundation. Aside the new pump that they proposed in this particular product, this foundation leaves an instant polished perfection on my skin. Most importantly, it delivers that flawless complexion I was looking for, especially if you are doing a shoot, going for a party with lots of flash photography, this would be the best foundation for you. To set that foundation in place, I topped it off with NARS Soft Velvet Loose Powder. What caught me by surprise about this was that it really gives that soft velvet complexion all day, and just so you know, I wore that to work and came home with the same velvety complexion.
